Tina is the State Manager and Nursing Director for DonateLife Qld, the organ and tissue donation agency based at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. She has been involved in organ and tissue donation since 1990, originally as a Donor Coordinator for 13 years and since then as State Manager, having established the Queensland Organ and Tissue Donation Agency in 1999.
She has been a Faculty lecturer for the University of Barcelona since 2006, specialising in Family Care and Consent, teaching on the International Advanced Transplant Procurement Management (TPM) course in Barcelona and other countries. Tina has provided training workshops internationally on communication and family care in Europe, Asia and Saudi Arabia.
In Australia, through the Organ and Tissue Authority, she is one of the national LEAD trainers for the Family Donation Conversation Workshops as part of the Professional Education Package for health professionals involved in family consent in the critical care setting.
In 2017, Tina was awarded an Order of Australia for distinguished service to community health as a leader of, and advocate for organ and tissue donation and transplantation coordination organisations at the state, national and international level.
She is a Vice-Chancellor appointed Board Member of the Alumni Board for the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and in 2017, received the QUT Faculty of Health Outstanding Alumni Award.
