James Fung is a Consultant and Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at the Department of Medicine, and the Transplant Hepatologist at the Liver Transplant Centre, Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong. He graduated from the University of Auckland School of Medicine in 1997. In 2011 he attained his Doctor of Medicine studying non-invasive assessment of liver fibrosis. He is currently the Vice President of both the Hong Kong Association for the Study of Liver Diseases and the Hong Kong Society of Transplantation. His main research interest includes viral hepatitis, liver fibrosis, advanced liver disease, hepatocellular carcinoma, and liver transplantation.
