Dr. Koong Jun Kit is a Consultant Surgeon in the Hepatopancreatobiliary & Liver Transplantation Unit in University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) and a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya. His clinical and research interest is in benign and malignant HPB disease as well as liver transplantation. He is also a keen researcher in the development of medical education. He is the program manager and trainer for ODISSeA (Organ Donation Innovative Strategies in South East Asia), an EU funded (Erasmus +) project, which offers a Professional Certificate in Organ Donation Medicine in Universiti of Malaya. He was involved in the "Kunming Consensus on International Cooperation and Development in Organ Donation and Transplant" and have been invited to speak on education in organ donation, organ recovery & organ allocation in national and international meetings. Currently, he is part of an active team that is developing a new medical specialty as well as a Masters program in Organ Donation & Transplantation Medicine in Malaysia, the first of its kind in the region.
